Climate Action’s latest videographic explores the opportunities available to businesses at the Sustainable Innovation Expo, held during at 2nd biennial UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-2), which will welcome up to 25 organisations to present their solutions for driving equitable, low carbon growth.
UNEA-2 will take place 23rd - 27th May, uniting 1200 Environment Ministers and high level delegates at UNEP’s Headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, to discuss the deliverance of the environmental dimensions of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Assembly is recognised as the highest level, most politically influential meeting on the global environment, with the inaugural meeting in 2014 spurring country level policy resolutions on topics including illegal trade in wildlife, chemical waste and marine plastic.
2015 was a transformative year for global policy, with the SDGs and COP21 placing environmental considerations at the forefront of future growth. In order to drive the low carbon transition at the pace and scale required, engagement of the private sector is key in developing the innovative solutions required to transform existing systems and create entirely new ways of living.
The 6th Sustainable Innovation Expo will unite a combination of large established organisations, such as ABB and Siemens, and smaller, innovative companies to exhibit their solutions during UNEA-2. The Expo presents a unique opportunity to engage directly with environment ministers and policy makers looking to advance sustainable development in their country- providing an exclusive platform on which to make demonstrate leadership in the field.
